Who is the holy and blameless bride of Christ?
In the midst of this chaotic world, isn’t it the brokenness, uncleanness, pride, sexual immorality and ungodliness that ruins who are as the holy bride?
Romans 10:9 says, “whoever confesses with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believes in their heart that He saved you from dead, then you become the holy and blameless bride of Christ”. It refers to all the believers who believe in Jesus as their Lord and savior and make the commitment to walk this life’s journey together with Christ. You are the spotless and blameless bride no matter how the world defines you. Your bridegroom called you holy and He made you righteous and blameless by shedding his blood. Isn’t it amazing that you have the bridegroom who loves you unconditionally and gives himself up to get you saved and to be holy?
“ Colossians 1:22 (NLT), Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault. But you must continue to believe this truth and stand firmly in it. Don’t drift away from the assurance you received when you heard the Good News”.
After we have become the bride of Christ, we must still continue to believe in the truth and stand firm in it so that we do not drift away from our faith. In other words, the bride must keep believing her bridegroom, stand firm on the word that her bridegroom speaks, even if he is away from her. 1 Timothy 6:14 (NKJV)- that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ appears. She must be faithful and committed to Him till the end of her life. It is our responsibility as the bride of Christ to stay holy, pure and spotless till the return of Jesus because the bridegroom only accepts the wise bride who awaits Him patiently on his return and fills herself up with the Holy Spirit. We can see that in the parable of the ten virgins who waited for their bridegroom and only those who took oil in jars along with their lamps went with him to the wedding banquet.(Matthew 25:1-14)
To the beloved bride of Christ, the bridegroom already made you holy and blameless by the death of His flesh, then you need to enrich your identity of holiness. Your bridegroom sets you apart for Himself, chooses you in His kingdom to reign together, makes you holy and blameless to present before God. Therefore, let’s enforce the truth of Jesus’s sacrificial love. Keep His commandments to be able to fulfill His promises and walk in the righteousness of Christ by faith till His return, in order to be purified and qualified for the wedding feast of the Lamb. Revelation 19:9 (ESV), “Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb” May the bride of Christ keep the holiness and blameless identity till Jesus returns by standing firmly on the Truth and keeping His commandments.
