Is Your Faith Connected? by samantha robinson

We put our faith into everyday ‘things’ without even realizing it. This consistently happens without us even realizing it. We tend to put our trust in things like the chairs we sit on, the vehicles we drive, and technology we use such as wifi. We do this expecting the chairs to hold us up,  the cars to not suddenly stop and the wifi connection to stay connected but do we have the same faith in God?

The faith we have with these items is the exact same faith we must have with God. In fact, He is the only one who holds us up without letting us go, He is the only one who can guide us and lead us to places while keeping us safe and He stays connected to us without ever disconnecting.

We know that “faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1). We need to put our hopes in Jesus and trust Him with our lives even if we don’t physically see Him. When we log into His word and long for His presence, He will never leave us or forsake us (James 4:8 & Deuteronomy 31:8). Doing this daily will grow our faith deep and make the connection between us and the LORD strong.

All we need is to have faith the size of a mustard seed for everything to work out according to His will (Luke 17:6), and to know that we can overcome anything because we are more than conquers (Romans 8:37).

We must walk boldly and with faith each day staying connected to Him at all times so we know what to say,  when to say it, what to do, when to do it, where to go and when to be still. Since faith comes from hearing the word (Romans 10:17), we must be able to speak His word to others in order to help them grow. Therefore, our connection with Him must stay strong at all times. Being children of, it is important to understand that faith without works is dead (James 2:26). So along with having faith, we must put in the physical work. Having faith can be hard sometimes, we may go through obstacles that we might not understand, that might be tough and even hurt sometimes or make us feel weak, but having faith in God will bring us peace, joy, and strength while making any circumstance that seems “impossible” possible (Philippians 4:13).

So today, ask yourself, how connected is your faith to God?

I’m Samantha Robinson, a 26-year-old who is a wife, a mother, and a child of God living in Canada. I enjoy spending time with my family and serving others. I love going on new adventures, especially nature/outdoor ones. I truly believe that Jesus saves and what best way to tell the world how He saves other than by speaking on how the LORD saved me! For this reason, I put my full and only trust in Him and Him alone. He is not only my Father but also my Savior and Redeemer. He is my one and only true love! “I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” Psalm 139: 14 ESV
