Heading home Sunday September 18th, I got a very disturbing call. Not sure if disturbing is the right word to describe how I felt but just picture this:
You finish paying US$8,800/Ja$1,100,000 for a vehicle from July 8th then to hear that the vehicle is in the local newspaper to be auctioned! (Yes… shock is an understatement).
Going over in the bus I figure it must be a joke so I needed to get over my friend Ancella’s house ASAP! (I think this was one of the longest bus rides ever).
Okayy then! So it is not a joke. There it was!!
Honestly, I didn’t panic. I didn’t cry. I didn’t freak out.
Actually, I smiled because this must be in His plan.
That Sunday night, I was talking to a lawyer friend and she was advising me to get the police involved because I can’t afford to lose my money or the car.
Now, throughout this season God has been saying “Be still.. He is in control”. It was frustrating plus a bit annoying having people asking me what’s the status of the vehicle. I had no update and I just didn’t want to talk about it. Many started thinking I am being a fool and a wimp because I just allowing this man to deceive me (did I mention this man and his wife were ‘good’ friends of mine!)
Psalm 37: 1 – 8 became my daily prayer:
Do not worry because of evildoers, Nor be envious toward wrongdoers;
For they will wither quickly like the grass, And fade like the green herb.
Trust [rely on and have confidence] in the Lord and do good; Dwell in the land and feed [securely] on His faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord,
And He will give you the desires and petitions of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, Trust in Him also and He will do it. He will make your righteousness [your pursuit of right standing with God] like the light,
And your judgment like [the shining of] the noonday [sun].
Be still before the Lord; wait patiently for Him and entrust yourself to Him;
Do not fret (whine, agonize) because of him who prospers in his way,
Because of the man who carries out wicked schemes.
That Monday morning, I heard the Holy Spirit whispered.. It’s time to move now!
Finally!!!!
I spent that week between calling the man and him giving me so many stories and lies (it’s unbelievable how evil people can be. .. “The heart of man is desperately wicked and exceedingly corrupt – Jer. 17:9)
I tried reporting the matter twice to the police and was told to come back the next day… smh at the system (guess because the gunmen are shooting up football matches; my little vehicle not as important).. But anyway, God is in control!
I called customs and just try reach out to everybody I could to get some recourse…
Early that week, I wrote a letter to the Commissioner of Customs, Major Reece to explain the situation. Honestly, not sure what to expect but I followed the leading of the Holy Spirit to drop off the letter as suggested by one of the police officers.
Then Thursday a shift happened…
Walking home, I started to really pray and say God, you need to show up .. “Hello Crystal here, she needs help!!”
Literally as I stepped through my door I got a call, ‘Major Reece from Customs to say he receive my letter and want to help me’.
You say what now?
Yes.. The Commissioner of Customs called my cell phone 3 times to get some information and wants to take the car off the auction until I got it sorted out.
BOI GOD LOVE SHOWOFF!!
This was just a reminder that GOD IS IN CONTROL!
Now let me try summarize because I don’t want the blog to be too long.
Yesterday, Tuesday September 27, 2016.. I woke up and the Holy Spirit said today you will get your vehicle.
On Monday, I was prompt to take the police to the gentleman’s house to collect my vehicle documents and go sort out the vehicle myself.
The vehicle has been in the island from May 18th so the storage fee was over US$800/ Ja$100,000 plus custom officer fees.
I have no money (actually I am in debts above my head). But the Lord says I will get the vehicle so I just prayed and trusted Him.
Literally, within 2 hours I drove my vehicle out of the wharf.
How did I feel? Not sure. Thankful. Relieved. Blessed. Relieved.
My friend Ancella was on the road with me and she kept saying ‘Crystal I can’t believe that it’s finally here’!!
GOD IS SO SO FAITHFUL!!
Of course, after the excitement of finally getting vehicle then “reality” presented itself.
Car insurance, fitness, new battery, funds to service vehicle plus the additional debts incurred to clear the vehicle is still there.
BUT HONESTLY, just like I’ve been doing over this season… I can only TRUST GOD!!
IT IS ALREADY DONE!!
He has always been my Jehovah Jireh, My Provider.
He is my WAY MAKER.
HE is my DELIVERER.
He is my SOURCE.
I know this season really had nothing to do with the car. This season had some major lessons I needed to learn to prepare me for the next season of my life.
As my virtual mentor, Rachel Proctor reminded me in her recent Periscope – the enemy is ONLY after our FAITH.
If our faith is weak then our lives will crumble because we won’t be able to trust that God’s promises and that He can and will work everything out for our good. (Romans 8:28)
Honestly, when the Word of God instructs us to build our lives on the Solid Rock of Jesus Christ… I must tell you… that is so so true.
If I wasn’t SOLD OUT for Jesus Christ, I would possible gotten myself in trouble, ran away or gone crazy. But God does grace us for the season we are in and He truly doesn’t give us more than we can bear (even though going through it feels unbearable).
I am smiling… As I wrote this blog, I recognize it is the 7th blog on this testimonial. Biblically, 7 mean “completion”. I was reminded of Jesus on the cross saying it is finished!
But after His death, came His resurrection which gave us new life…
God loves you and I love you too!!
