Have you ever felt trapped? Have you ever felt like your circumstances are bigger than you? You pray to God but nothing seems to happen. You look to the hills from whence cometh your strength, but each time you get the strength, you slowly lose it but deep down you know you have to keep praying, deep down you know you have to keep pushing, deep down you know you have to keep believing, deep down you know there must be an end. But….. still, you wonder, where is the finish line, when will I scream “hallelujah it is finished”, when will you say “God, I thank you that you pulled me through”, when will you truly say “this was exhausting and filled me with distress but enduring was worth it”.
I am sure these were some of the words of Hannah when she was without a child and she was being boasted on by Peninnah. She became bitter and in distress. She cried out to the Lord during her distress and prayed and asked that God give her a son and promised that he will be given back for service to God. Hannah’s plea was genuine, and God being omniscient, knew this. Being a compassionate and omnipotent God, he granted her request enabling her to be relieved from her situation. She was no longer sorrowful and bitter; she was raised up from her circumstances and was able to stand knowing that God had her back.
I am sure these were also some of the words of David, when King Saul was seeking to kill him. David was petrified and was also confused as to why King Saul wanted to kill him. David prayed and waited on the Lord to deliver him from the hands of King Saul. David was innocent and also got the chance to kill King Saul but didn’t, because he was conscious that King Saul was God’s anointed and did not want to touch that which was anointed by God. God being omniscient knew this. God spared David and allowed King Saul to die by his own sword. David was raised up from his circumstances and was able to stand knowing that God had his back.
When you trust God and cast all your cares on him genuinely and in its entirety, God will move on your behalf. He will raise you up from that situation, he will give you victory! Continue to stand on the promises of God and wait, knowing that he cares for you and wants to deliver you!
