May… May.. May… what can I say?
I’m so grateful for life.
That’s it. Can I end the blog here?
On a serious note though, I was tempted not to blog about May because I rarely got anything done. But my sister (assistant) convicted me when she asked how can I say I am being transparent but don’t want to share my “down” moments.
So, it is 2 days into June and I found some time to pause and write this blog to share my May 2021 Kingdom Entrepreneur journey.
At the end of each month, I share my goals, successes and lessons while inviting you to do the same.
For all of May, I was in a pensive mood. I think I was really tired from April plus I felt a bit unsure about my next move
Honestly, a part of entrepreneurship I don’t like is the constant feeling of “grinding”. It’s almost like if you are not selling everyday or at least often, then you can’t land any clients and I don’t want to create a business that everyday I am posting “buy me buy me” on social media. So, I decided to just pause a bit. I did enough to serve my current clients and keep visible, while I figure out what’s next.
If you haven’t gotten a chance, go read last month’s report HERE
Here’s how May went for me:
This month’s goals:
- Sign 8 new clients:As you know my goal is to sign at least 8 publishing clients monthly; this month I signed 0 new clients. Yes zero… I am not even sure how to process this because I have been getting consistent clients for at least 18 months and to not get any in May, I was like blahhh! But, I’m grateful though that financially I managed to take care of my family and major expenses based on my other streams of income.
- Launch the Elite Author Mentoring:I launched my 6-month mentoring program for published authors. I hosted the first session about Vision & Profit Planning and it was well received. So, I am looking forward to the next 6 months to serve the authors.
- Host Becoming A Woman Of Purpose 4-Week Biblical Coaching Program: I did host this discipleship program where over 70 women signed up and we looked at Biblical lessons of what becoming a woman of purpose truly means. Honestly, it was hard to put the content together weekly, I had to do a lot of repenting but it was also a timely reminder for me of what truly matters, ie. Pleasing God! If you want to get the replay access, you can email me.
- Finish writing my new book “Blessed Booked Boundless”:-. I didn’t even open the manuscript (arghh). I’m not even sure when I want to launch it yet, so I’m still praying and processing my next move.
Other-To-Achieve Goals included:
- Read 2 books: I started my 2 books “Draw Circles Around Your Dreams” and Taking the Lead With Kindness.
2. Worked with a high-level coach (looking forward to applying what I learnt and launching some new programs).
- Host successful Empowering Girls Club meeting with my guest Sherine Hemmings sharing with the girls about Intimacy with God.
- Got featured on The Confident Woman podcast, Dee Sharpe Thoughts podcast, Mothers Day article on The Gleaner, Interviewed on MTM Tv station for Morning Glory devotional program and Article featured on Fox, CBS and NBC.
My Challenge and lesson:
May reminded me that proper profit planning and having multiple streams of income are so important. Even though I didn’t sign any new publishing clients, I still generated income through my books, consultation sessions and mentorship programs.
Learn to be honest with yourself and listen to your body. Things were happening in my family and with friends which made it hard to focus plus I was tired mentally and physically. I just had to be real with myself that I don’t have to always be going hard, slowing down is okay.
Finally, having REAL friends is such a blessing. My prayer tribe and closest friends were there to encourage me on the days that I was down or discouraged.
On the Diary Of A Jesus Girl Podcast, I interviewed some amazing guests and we had conversations about motherhood, miscarriages, promiscuity plus part 2 of Let The Teen Girls speak. Please go listen HERE and be blessed.
That’s it for this month.
