With February being the shortest month – these last few days felt a bit rushed to write this blog, but I am giving thanks because it was a pretty decent month. As I shared before, at the end of each month, I share my goals, successes and lessons while inviting you to do the same.
Quote of the Month:– “You can’t have a million-dollar dream with a minimum wage work ethic!”
I want you to reflect on that quote. February certainly proved that to accomplish my dreams, I need to ensure my work ethic is on point so I can accomplish my goals of becoming a six-figure kingdom entrepreneur that I’m working towards in 2021.
If you haven’t gotten a chance, go read last month’s report HERE
Here’s how February went for me:
This month’s goals:
- Go Live for at least 10 days: — Yay me!! So, I went live at least 14 times in February. I am so happy to accomplish this goal, because doing Facebook lives has been a challenge for me. I pushed outside of my comfort zone and was able to do the live video teachings.
- Update DayeLight Publishers and Christian Coaches Alliance websites:– I was able to complete my website updates myself. When I started building my brand, I learnt to build websites because the costs to hire someone to do it was over my budget. For the last few years, I haven’t been updating my own websites so I pay to get it done (because I don’t think it is my strength, but I know how to do the basics). So, I spent two days and did my updates and I am encouraging you to go check them out at dayelightpublishers.com and www.christiancoachesalliance.com
- Sign 8 new clients: As you know my goal is to sign at least 8 publishing clients monthly; this month I signed 6 new clients! I was 2 clients short of my goal, but I am grateful because it tripled my January clientele.
- Rebrand Facebook group to Jesus Girls Tribe: I had a dormant Facebook group called I Am Royalty that started in 2015 and I paused in 2017 based on direction from the Lord. I came into 2021, feeling like I should rebrand the group to help women to grow spiritually and personally. So, I upgraded it to “Jesus Girl Tribe”. Along with this upgrade, we started our 40-Days Lent Challenge. Also, in March we will be doing a 31-Day Draw Closer to God Journal Challenge based on my new devotional. So, if you haven’t joined yet… hop over to Facebook and join the group, God has so many awesome things in store for 2021.
- Get at least 20 more Amazon reviews: This goal I failed at totally. I released a new devotional and I found it difficult to promote my books much. Books have been selling though, but the reviews haven’t been coming at all (sad face☹).
Other-To-Achieve Goals included:
- Exercise 3 times weekly: I have been consistent with exercising in February. I found a little rhythm that has been working for me so far; but I am not excited because I am becoming uncomfortable with my weight so I’m processing the whole weight thing. (Will update you another time about this).
- Read 2 or more books: I’ve committed to reading at least 2 books monthly. My books for February were The Big Leap, Plead Your Case and to finish Clever Girl Finance. I read the 1st two books which were good, but I didn’t finish Clever Girl Finance arghhhh! I did read 2 other books though – BluePrint For Building Strong Faith and Seek Him First. (So yay me.. I read 4 books, but I commit to finishing the finance book)
- Do my weekly Discipleship sessions: Growing in intimacy with God and spending time with Jesus is so important to me. I didn’t stick to my discipleship plan as I really wanted to, but I believe the March plan to do the Draw Closer To God 31-Day Challenge will help me to get back on track).
What I did right for in February (successes):
- I was featured on Yahoo Finance as one of the top 10 Book Coaches to watch in 2021! That is such a big deal… when they reached out to me, I was sooo humbled but I am soooo happy to see my hard work is paying off. Read Article HERE
- Got interviewed on five podcasts this month.
- My books are now available in 2 stores in Jamaica (Bryans Bookstore and York Pharmacy), so ensure you go get your copy of Dear Insecurity and Draw Closer To God 31-Day Devotional For Women & Teens.
- I released my 9th book – Draw Closer to God 31-Day Devotional For Women (working on the men version for June 2021).
- Did a solo episode on the Diary Of A Jesus Girl Podcast called “Its Preparation Season” and whew God really spoke (go listen here, it will bless you tremendously).
My Challenges and lessons:
- Not dealing with my distractions well: – Confession- “I am a TV addict”!! I’m that girl who start a series and get so hooked I don’t sleep. This month, I spent too much time watching TV. I’m actually pretty embarrassed because I could have gotten so much more done, but I binged a lot this month. This is not normally a big challenge because I tend to be very discipline, but these days I find that once I get some free time, I pick up the remote and I believe it is a BIG distraction. For March I decided to ensure I only watch TV on weekends.
Ask yourself- what have been distracting you these days?
- Your feelings will fail you: – Listen, you cannot build a successful business relying on your feelings. Honestly, I found myself in a rut so many times this month- I had a lot of “can’t bother” days (not sure why- I think something spiritual was happening). But I realized that I had spent so long developing my success routine that I don’t need motivation to get things done. I am able to work and show up daily despite my feelings. That is my biggest tip for you this month – Start creating a routine, this way you can still be productive even when you’re feeling “off”
Ask Yourself – What type of routine can I create to ensure I stick to my goals?
- Keep your commitments to yourself: – I find that many of us can keep commitments we make to others, but we fail to stick to the commitments we make to ourselves. That’s a NO NO for 2021! I decided I am going to be intentional to keep the promises I make to myself, and for February, I decided to commit to doing at least 10 Facebook lives and some days I “felt” I didn’t want to, but I showed up despite how I was feeling and did it anyway.
Ask Yourself- What commitment will I make to myself for March?
That’s it for February.
I would love to hear from you.
