Kingdom entrepreneur Journey {Monthly goals – jan. 2021)

On January 20, 2017, I walked away from my comfortable public sector job as a Senior Procurement Officer to answer God’s call to become a full time Kingdom Entrepreneur. It’s been 4 years and it has been a very interesting; challenging, yet fulfilling journey.

If you know me, I wear multiple hats including Author, International Speaker, Podcaster, Corporate Trainer, Book Coach, Publisher, Brand Strategist, Business Coach, Minister, Master Coach Trainer, Influencer and yes…Mother😊. I know it looks a lot but really it isn’t. I’ve learnt how to function in the various roles and not get caught up in the titles. So, for simplicity…let’s stick to saying, I’m a Kingdom Entrepreneur.

While I’ve always been a writer, I haven’t blogged consistently in years, but since mid-2020 the writing bug hit me (in order words COVID pandemic slowed me down ..lol)…. And I’ve had more time to hone my writing skills.

After watching many online entrepreneurs sharing their journey (not just the destination but the process) by blogging monthly to their audience to share their wins, challenges and lessons (we don’t fail… we learn lessons…right!); I decided for 2021, I would challenge myself to blog monthly and share my goals (the process). I pray that someone will be empowered to go after their dreams because they are inspired by my lessons.

January 2021 Goals

My major goal as a Kingdom Entrepreneur for 2021 is to build a thriving business with proper systems, provide excellent services, grow my influence globally and yess…hit that six-figure mark (I’ll share more about the six-figure thing a next time).

For my annual goal-setting, I have ten major goals per annum in each category: Spiritual, Personal, Financial, Entrepreneurial, Health and Dreams (Get my 2021 Purpose Planner HERE). This is to ensure that I am living a wholistic life. After my annual goals, I broke them down into three main goals per quarter, then five monthly goals, then weekly goals, then a daily-to-achieve list. This system keeps me accountable and ensure that I stay consistent.

This month’s goals:

  1. Successfully launch of my new book “Dear Insecurity” on January 28, 2021:     While my book has been ready since December 302020, I wanted to ensure I saw the printed copies plus implemented a good launch strategy, so I waited to launch late January. There were many setbacks – I got some of the books, some were delayed, the kindle version was launched but the paperback was delayed until January 30th and my pre-orders also got delayed. (No fault of mine but I still felt horrible).
  2. Sign 5 new publishing clients: My monthly goal is to actually sign 8 new clients monthly; but I knew because of my focus to do a successful book launch, I wouldn’t be able to promote my business as much, so I decreased my goal for January. I ended up only signing 2 new clients (still giving thanks).

3. Release Unlock Your God-Given Gifts Course: I love talking about spiritual gifts and my new book is about helping women activate their gifts. While the book is great, I knew I needed something more in depth, so I launched a new course to accompany the book.

  1. Update my three websites: Every year, I try to give my websites a new look plus I am always trying to narrow my niche and my websites should reflect this. I wanted the websites to be ready for my Faith-Aversary on January 20th, but only got crystaldaye.com ready in time; so, my other websites will have to be updated next month, hopefully.
  2. Get 50 Amazon Book Reviews within a week of launch: Reviews are big for book success and the most reviews I have gotten on my books is 20 (Living A Royal Reality-my 1st book). I formed a launch team with over 40 persons for my new book and up to 5 days of launch, I only have 15 reviews (bummer….but still grateful).

Other-To-Achieve Goals included:

  • Exercise 3 times weekly: this has not happened at all! (embarrassed face)
  • Read 2 books monthly: For January, I planned to read ‘Clever Girl Finance’ as my personal development book and “28-Day Prayer Journey” for my spiritual development. I started Clever Girl but your girl has not been able to be consistent; luckily, I’ve been doing my 28-Day Prayer Journey which has been a good read to level up my prayer life.
  • Wake by 8:30am and do daily quiet time (including reading bible): oh boi! I have not been up earlier than 9:45am (don’t judge me). I struggle to fall asleep and I work better at nights, so I have been going to bed after 2am and I can’t wake up early in the mornings (luckily Christelle can get herself ready for online classes and thank God for alarm clocks…lol)

What I did right for this month (successes):

  1. My prayer life improved and I have been a bit more consistent in praying daily and interceding for others.
  2. I invested in learning to do my makeup, so I’ve been practicing my makeup (your girl been on fleek these days).
  3. I’ve been connecting with more people online and putting myself out there to build my visibility.
  4. Got interviewed on four podcasts and two TV shows.
  5. Hosted successful Teen Writers Academy & Empowering Girls Club monthly meetings (shout out to my friends Natasha & Terri who came on to share with the girls).
  6. Diary Of A Jesus Girl podcast is growing steadily (we’re about 16,000 downloads).
  7. Got my books in By Faith Christian Bookstore in Fort Lauderdale (yayy… global impact)!
  8. Ensured my mom had a good birthday😊 (she’s so hard to please but she said she had fun)
  9. Had a really amazing prayer dedication for my new book (thanks to all who showed up! The replay is available on my Youtube channel).
  10. Been consistent with tracking my goals daily (this keeps me consistent).

My Challenges and lessons:

  • Being FOCUS: I think I am still doing a bit too much and I need to focus on doing less. This is one of my biggest goal for 2021 (to cut down some of my offerings in my business)
  • Exercise Consistently: Listen… this has been a struggle forever! While I am grateful because I’ve been trying to do 20 minutes walk daily, your girl is gaining to much weight (although I think its because I am more contented), I really want to improve in this area.
  • Increasing my prices: I am an expert in what I do as a book coach, publisher and brand strategist. When I compare my prices with others in my industry, I am far too low. I’ve improved but every coach I’ve worked with, keeps begging me to increase. So, this quarter I am doing the mindset work so I can confidently increase my prices.

That’s it for January.

I would love to hear from you.

What were some of your goals, wins and lessons this month?
