Meet this week’s Empowered Woman – Visionary Phylicia Henry
“A few years back I struggled with depression. I was in a relationship that was mentally and emotionally draining. The weight and the pressure became too much and I knew I had to leave. I knew I had to leave because this man was getting more of my attention than God. I knew I had to leave because I desired to be celibate and this man was against it. I knew I had to leave, but I did not want to. I can’t even really take credit for leaving. I believe God frustrated my situation so much so that I had no choice but to walk away.
It was one of the most difficult things I had to do. But guess what? I SURVIVED! Yes I faced depression. But not only did God deliver me from the depression, I began to understand my purpose! Shortly after walking away, I birthed my nonprofit organization, Developing In Excellence – a mentoring organization for teen girls. And a few years later I started my faith based brand, Seek God Slay Goals. I never thought I would survive without this man but it was through God’s provision and love that I made it through. I came out stronger. I came out wiser. And I came out with a stronger faith.
Today I am EMPOWERED FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS!
